Prairies & Savannas

Once a dominant compon_DSC5572ent of the Willamette Valley landscape, wild prairies and savannas have diminished to 2% of historic range.  These sites support a hundreds of species of flowering plants, native grasses, trees and shrubs – as well as many fish and wildlife species that depend on intact prairie and savanna habitats.

Ash Creek has developed widely-respected methods for restoration of prairies and savannas.  Our projects have become benchmarks of success in recovery of functional habitats in the Tualatin Basin and beyond.
