Riparian / Floodplain Forests

oxbow plantingRiparian forests provide ecosystem services critical to fish, wildlife and humans:  Cooling and filtering water through shaded canopy and complex root structure, providing structure and prey/forage for neotropical birds, creating instream conditions that support spawing and rearing of salmonids – are a few of the benefits from reforestation of riparian and floodplain habitats.

Since our inception in 1997, Ash Creek has developed and implemented restoration plans for thousands of acres of riparian forest, ranging from floodplains of the Columbia River Gorge to stream sides in the upper Tualatin.  We bring expertise in site evaluations, planning, fundraising for implementation and monitoring, project oversight, plant selection and installation, weed control, monitoring and reporting.
